"Functional Medicine is a system biology approach where health is created and diseases go away as the side effect"

Hey there, I’m Dr. Sarah.
I am a General Practitioner with nearly three decades of experience in medicine. For the past 20 years, I have practised through a Functional Medicine lens—working closely with each patient to uncover the root causes of their symptoms and addressing the body as an interconnected system, rather than focusing only on isolated complaints.
My approach is deeply personal. I come from a family with a long history of chronic conditions, including hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, and various cancers. Looking back, I believe there were also signs of psychiatric conditions in some of my extended family that were not well understood at the time. As a mother of three (the most handsome young men in the world, in my opinion), this history has shaped my mission: built a lifestyle so precisely tailored to your biology and physiology that disease prevention becomes a silent, constant process. This way, you don’t even need to think about prevention – it happens naturally.
I am a Fellow in Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine with the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (FAARM) and a Board-Certified Physician in this field, and a Fellow in Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (FINEM). I am also certified in Injectable Nutrients through the Australian College of Nutrition and Environmental Medicine (ACNEM), and in Heavy Metal Detoxification and Chelation Therapy through training in India.
I have a particular interest in genetics and personalised medicine. I believe that understanding our genetic blueprint is key to truly individualised healthcare—because health is personal. In 2020, I completed postgraduate studies in this field through Harvard Medical School, and I continue to integrate this knowledge into my clinical practice.
In 2025, I completed a Diploma in Geriatric Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland. While living beyond 80 has become increasingly common, true healthspan has not kept pace. Many people are living longer but with multiple chronic conditions. My work has evolved to focus on helping patients not just live longer, but live better—adding life to their years, not just years to their life.
In Indonesia, I practise at my Integrative Care Centre in Jakarta and am a member of the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI). I am also the founder of The House—an integrative wellness centre where lifestyle is medicine, and care is centred on the body, mind, and soul. I collaborate with like-minded physicians and global organisations to advance Functional Medicine both for the public and the medical community.
Beyond Indonesia, I serve as the Medical Director of a Singapore-based company managing international health insurance providers across Asia and beyond. I am also an Advisor to the Editor for Soukhya’s Advanced Wellness Education (AWE) Bulletin in India.
