I am a General Practitioner and have been practicing medicine for 25 years. I practise medicine with Functional Medicine approach, that means, I look at all the possible root causes when my patients come with complaints and symptoms and treat the whole body system instead of only those specific signs and symptoms that bring them come to see me at the first place.
I come from a family with a super duper long list of chronic diseases from hypertension to heart disease to diabetes to various kind of cancer, and looking back, I am quite sure there were some solid evidence of some sort of psychiatric issues (which was not understood and the individual affected sadly thought to just being annoying). As a mother of three the most handsome young men in the whole wide world - I have to say it, I am their mother - I have to protect them from the foe of their family history. And the best way is of course to prevent it. But to be able to prevent it, we need to know what might cause it.
I always believe that prevention and holistic approach are the best practice, and I am currently a Fellow in Anti Aging and Regenerative Medicines of American Academy of Anti Aging Medicines (A4M) and is a Board Certified Physician of the same. I am certified in Injectable Nutrients by Australian College of Nutrition and Environmental Medicines (ACNEM) and Heavy Metal Detoxification and Chelation Therapy with Soukhya Training and Research Institute in Kerala, India as well as with Indian Society for the Study of Metal Toxicity and Chelation Therapy in Goa, India . I have also completed a Fellowship in Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (FINEM).
I am a fan of Genetics, and truly believe that knowing our genetic make up would be the ultimate personalised medicine for our health, because health IS personal. I completed a Post Graduate course with Harvard Medical on this subject and plan to implement them even more in practice.
At present I am on my way in finishing my Post Graduate Certification in Integrative Medicines at School of Medicine and Health Sciences at George Washington University in The USA.
In Indonesia, apart from seeing my patients in my Integrative Care Centre in Jakarta, I am a member of IDI (Indonesian Doctor Association) and the Vice Chairman of AKSHARA (Persatuan Kesehatan Integrasi Nusantara), an Association of Integrative Medicine Practitioner in Indonesia whose aim is to introduce Functional Medicine and Integrative Medicine in addressing patients’ symptoms. We collaborate with mind-alike physician and association around the Globe to share the beauty of Functional Medicine in Indonesia to general public as well as fellow colleagues.
Outside Indonesia, I am also the Medical Director of a Singapore based company who manages International Health Insurance Providers around Asia and beyond. I am appointed as an Advisor to Editor on Soukhya's Advanced Wellness Education (AWE) Bulletin in India and member of International Advisory Board of International Lifestyle, Functional Medicine & Sciences based in Singapore.
